While using iPhoto to resize images for a few basic tasks, these following steps are necessary. Is it a complicated image editor? You might think so.
Step 1: Open iPhoto and double click an Event to view the pictures inside it.

Step 2: Select the picture you would like to resize by clicking it once, and then select Export from iPhoto's File Menu.

Step 3: Select the format and size of the photo you want to export in the dropdown menus.
Step 4: If you select the size of the image for Custom, a new Max Dropdown Menu will appear in the window.


From this menu, you can select either Width, Height, or Dimension from the dropdown. In the entry field below enter the max pixels to resize your image. For example, if you select Width from the Max Dropdown Menu and input a value of 640 into the entry field, your image will be resized to a max width of 640 pixels.
Step 5: Click the "Export" button to resize the image.
Then a popup window will appear asking you to name the exported file and select the location to save it. Type a name and then select a location to save.
Click "OK" to complete the file export.
